Midnight Oath

Your name is a candle I hold by the blade,
a soft, burning dare in the dark of my mouth.
I keep it between my teeth like a vow,
let wax drip slow as clock-blood down my wrist.
You say love is safer spoken at dawn
I unbolt midnight and let it breathe you in.
Walls lean closer. The room grows a pulse.
I hear the hinge of fate click once, then twice.
Kiss me like we already ruined tomorrow.
Kiss me like we buried our alibis deep.
The moon takes off her ring and rolls it to us.
We do not wear it. We pocket the shine.
If this is a sin, it tastes like pomegranate,
like a door that opens only from inside.
